RICHMOND, Ky. (LEX 18) – The Madison County coroner has identified the man killed in a shooting at a gas station.
According to the coroner, Matthew S. Frances, 26, of Somerset, was the victim killed at the Marathon on Berea Road.
Authorities say 22-year-old Brandon Carl Short admitted to shooting him with a handgun during an altercation.
The shooting happened around 10 p.m., and police said multiple witnesses reported seeing Short and the victim fighting.
Short was charged with murder.
He is being held in the Madison County Detention Center.
