SCOTT COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — The 217 Strong Festival is planned for Saturday in Georgetown to support Deputy Jaime Morales after he was injured on duty.

The festival will be held at the Cardome Center from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., according to a Facebook post for the event.

It will feature a “Triple Threat” 5k run sponsored by Fisticuffs gym, live music, food trucks, and a car show, said Mark Sulski, Market President of Kentucky Bank in Georgetown and an organizer of the festival.

Support from the community for Morales has been incredible, he said, and he wanted to get involved.

“It just shows that this community is a wonderful place,” Sulski said.

Tickets for the event will $20 or $15 if guests wear a 217 strong t-shirt. All the money raised will go to Morales.
