LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — A California man has been sentenced after pleading guilty to stalking his ex-girlfriend, who lives in Kentucky, over the phone and internet.
Authorities say 35-year-old Jesse Kessler pleaded guilty back in July in federal court in Lexington. Kessler was sentenced to 24 months in prison, to be followed by six months of community confinement.
Kessler admitted to repeatedly sending messages, emails and calls to the woman, her father and new boyfriend over a period of nine months.
According to records, in at least one of the messages Kessler implied he planned to kill the boyfriend and himself in front of the woman.
