FRANKFORT, Ky. (LEX 18)– Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes is urging Kentuckians to participate in the second annual Commonwealth of Kentucky Bowl, a statewide food drive her office is hosting with the Kentucky Association of Food Banks and the Kentucky Association of Counties (KACo) now through Oct. 26.
The food drive is a friendly competition among Kentucky counties and their local officials across the state to raise resources for food banks at an important time of need – just before the holidays.
The goal is to raise 160,000 pounds of food or $20,000 by Oct. 26.
