CARLISLE, Ky. (LEX 18) – A 17-year-old teen was killed in a two-vehicle collision in Nicholas County.

The crash happened on Moorefield Road Tuesday night. Brady Ramirez, 17, was a passenger involved in the head-on crash. Ramirez was airlifted to UK Medical Center where he later died.

The cause of death has been listed as multiple blunt force injuries.

The sheriff’s department said that Ramirez’s cousin, Carlos Lopez, has serious injuries from the crash.

Both boys are students at Nicholas County High School.

“Everybody in the school knew who Brady Ramirez was and liked Brady. He was just a happy go lucky guy. He didn’t let things bother him along with everybody,” said Head football coach Robert Hopkins.

Nicholas County FFA will be holding a cook-off Wednesday evening. The proceeds will go towards Ramirez’s funeral expenses.
