LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE 3)– One of the biggest mysteries making headlines around the world involving the disappearance of a Saudi journalist may have a Kentucky connection.

According to the New York Times, a man claiming to be a member of the Saudi assassination squad that allegedly killed Jamal Khashoggi went to school in Louisville.

The Times reports this man, Meshal Saad al-Bostani, is a lieutenant in the Saudi Air Force.

His Facebook pages lists him as a graduate of Trinity High School in Louisville, and also says he studied at UofL.

Neither school responded to request for comment.
