LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) – A former deputy coroner has filed a lawsuit against Fayette County Coroner Gary Ginn, accusing him of sexual harassment.

Melissa Neale has filed a civil suit against Ginn and the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government.

She says during her time as a deputy coroner she was subject to inappropriate behavior and comments from Ginn.  According to court documents, Neale began working for the coroner’s office in 2015 and was there until 2017.

Neale’s allegations state that Ginn made inappropriate comments about cadavers, said sexual things about television reporters and that he touched himself sexually in front of Neale.

Ginn’s response to the lawsuit denies her accusations and he has asked for the complaint to be dismissed in its entirety.  He is running for re-election against Larry Owens in the Nov. 6 general election.
