LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– The retrial for a teenage girl charged with assaulting a fellow student is scheduled to begin Tuesday in Laurel County.
This comes after a mistrial for Lea Sizemore was declared in April.
Sizemore is a former South Laurel High School student, who’s accused of severely beating another girl in the bathroom of the school.
The alleged attack back in September, 2016 left the victim with brain damage after she was repeatedly hit in the head with a cell phone.
Sizemore was only 16 at the time, but was indicted as an adult in February 2017.
She faces several charges including first-degree assault.
