WOLFE COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– A woman was bitten by a snake while hiking over the weekend in Wolfe County.
It happened Saturday in Muir Valley.
According to the Wolfe County Search and Rescue Team, the woman was bitten on the hand by a copperhead.
Crews say she was in serious pain and nauseous, and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Wildlife officials say that copperhead bites are rarely the cause of snake bite fatalities.
