Mega Millions Ticket Sold In Elizabethtown Hits For $1M

ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. (LEX 18) — While no one cashed in on Friday’s big Mega Millions lottery jackpot, one person who bought a ticket in Elizabeth town came so very, very close.

The consultation prize on missing Friday’s $420 million payout: a cool $1 million.

Kentucky lottery officials say a ticket that matched all five white balls, but not the red Mega ball, was purchased

The winner and winning sale site was not immediately disclosed.

“Security staff from the lottery will execute a series of security checks at the retailer on Monday, and at that point the name of the store where the ticket was sold will be disclosed,” according to Kentucky lottery officials.

The winning numbers in Friday evening’s drawing of the “Mega Millions” game were: 27-28-32-41-69, Mega Ball: 12, Megaplier: 2

The multi-state lottery’s top prize now stands at $470 million with a $265 million cash option.

The chance of winning the Mega Millions jackpot is 1 in about 303 million.

The jackpot for tonight’s Powerball drawing also is massive: That jackpot stands at $253 million with a $148 million cash option.

The chase of winning the Powerbal jackpot is 1 in about 292 million.
