ROWAN COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– Yet another business in Rowan County has stepped up to raise money for the family of the nine-year-old boy who drowned in flash flooding last month.

Until 9 p.m. Thursday, 10% of all sales at both Morehead Dairy Queen locations will go directly to Bryce Combs’s family.

“The show of support that the family has had during this time has been absolutely amazing,” said DQ shift manager Lacrissa Harris. “This is a very tragic situation, but our community is very strong and that’s what this is about.”

Rowan County Senior High School teacher Jonathan Stacy said that he is challenging his students and others to participate.

“Tell all the kids at the high school, all the kids in the community to come support,” he said.

The restaurants are ready for a rush of people to come out for the event. They are fully staffed and even have some volunteers to help run food and clean tables.

“We’re one town, we’re one family, and everyone in this community has felt like he was our boy,” said Harris.
