WOODFORD COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– The Woodford Humane Society is asking for donations after their industrial dryer quit working.

It will cost the shelter more than $5,000 to replace the dryer, according to Woodford Humane Society Marketing Director Beth Oleson.

The shelter has raised about half the needed money so far, she said, and had a new dryer delivered on Wednesday night.

“It’s been rough,” Oleson said. “It definitely makes an impact in our ability to do what we need to do for the animals here.”

The shelter has had a tough year, she said, especially after major storm damage in July. Several fences were damaged in the storm and trees were brought down.

“It was a long recovery process,” she said, “and our fences actually just got fixed in the last couple of weeks.”

You can help the Humane Society by donating to their Facebook page.
