Police: Car Fatally Strikes Bardstown Man As He Walked Along Highway

BARDSTOWN, Ky. (LEX 18) — Kentucky State Police were investigating after a car fatally struck a pedestrian early Sunday morning in Nelson County.

Authorities say 34-year-old Stephan M. Stransbury of Bardstown was killed as he walked along Kentucky Highway 245.

Police say 25-year-old Brandon J. Middaugh of Longview, Washington, was driving westbound in a 2000 Chevrolet Monte Carlo when he his Stansbury.

KSP troopers were called out to the scene about 5:45 a.m. Officials with the Nelson County Coroner’s Office pronounced Stansbury dead at the scene.

Police say the accident remains under investigation.
