LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Police have arrested a man in a shooting that injured an juvenile earlier this month.

The incident happened Sept. 11 at a park off of Hedgewood Court.

The juvenile told police he was at the park with a handgun, when a man he knew as “Tigga” approached him and asked about buying the weapon.

As they talked, the man allegedly grabbed the gun and pointed it at the juvenile.

When the teen asked for the gun back, the man reportedly told him to run and began shooting at his feet. One of the bullets struck the juvenile in his right calf.

Police later identified the assailant as 22-year-old Quarez T. Hale. He was arrested just after noon Friday and charged him with first-degree assault.

Hale was being held in the Fayette County Detention Center on $25,000 cash bail.
