Courier-Journal: Federal Judge Strikes Down Restrictions On Ky. Abortion Clinics

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Courier-Journal) – A federal judge has blocked a state law requiring Kentucky abortion clinics to have written agreements with an ambulance service and hospital in case of emergency.

The Courier-Journal calls this a defeat for Governor Matt Bevin, as pro-choice attorneys argued that he was using the law to try to shut down the state’s only abortion clinic.

US District Judge Greg Stivers issued the ruling, saying the restrictions were unconstitutional.
