FRANKFORT, Ky. (LEX 18)– A new poll shows Congressman Andy Barr and his election opponent, Amy McGrath, are in a dead heat at 47 percent in the race for Kentucky’s 6th congressional district.

The poll was commissioned by US Term Limits and conducted by Pulse Opinion Research, and shows increased focus on congressional term limits could be either candidate’s key to victory.

600 likely midterm voters in district six were surveyed.

81 percent of voters support a constitutional amendment for term limits on Congress.

The survey also found that 69 percent of voters are more likely to support a candidate for Congress who has signed a pledge endorsing term limits.

MGgrath has signed the US Term Limits pledge, while Barr has not.

“This proves that District 6 voters want their member of Congress to be a real champion for term limits,” said USTL Executive Director Nick Tomboulides. “They want someone who will help fix the broken system in D.C. and make Congress accountable.”

A representative from Andy Barr’s office reached out to LEX 18 saying that Congressman Barr has cosponsored term limit legislation throughout his time in Congress.  Read morehere.
