SCOTT COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — A Georgetown man with a long criminal history was arrested Sunday after being accused of repeatedly raping a woman and threatening to kill her.

Authorities say 33-year-old Cody Alan Arnett was arrested Sunday afternoon following the alleged attack.

An arrest citation says, Arnett forced his way into a residence on the 200 block of Military Street.

The woman told police Arnett attacked her while she was sleeping on her couch, then sexually assaulted her multiple times.

Police say she stabbed Arnett in self-defense and Arnett allegedly threatened to kill her.

“You really want to die, don’t you,” the arrest citation says Arnett told the woman. “Don’t make me kill you.”

Police say Arnett fled when the woman screamed, alerting her roommates. Arnett was arrested nearby.

He is charged with first-degree rape, first-degree burglary and tampering with evidence.

Arnett has previous arrests for a variety of charges. Police say he robbed two banks in 2014, before being captured by US Marshals in Georgia.

He was being held in the Scott County Detention Center.
