LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — A man accused in a deadly crash on New Circle Road pleaded not guilty Monday to DUI and drug charges in the case.
Authorities say 33-year-old Dean Lee Carson caused a crash about 11:45 p.m. Friday on the city’s east side.
Officials said Carson was driving a sport-utility vehicle when he crashed from behind into a car that was stopped at a red light.
The Fayette County Coroner’s Office said 57-year-old John Rusnak was killed in the wreck.
Carson was treated for minor injuries at an area hospital and released into custody. A passenger in the SUV was not injured, authorities said.
Carson was charged with driving under the influence and possession of cocaine.
