MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– A home has been heavily damaged by a fire in Mt. Sterling.
It happened around 3 a.m. Wednesday in the 1400 block of Whitaker Lane.
Officials say a volunteer firefighter who was passing by called the fire in.
Crews had to shuttle in water from a couple of miles away, but were able to contain the fire.
Officials say the homeowner was not there because they are in the process of moving.
No one was hurt.
