LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — With the remnants of Tropical Storm Gordon on the way, we’re seeing higher gas prices in Kentucky.

While some customers said they expect high prices all the time nowadays, others were not too happy about the higher prices. One man even looked at the prices and went to a competitor down the road because he was so frustrated.

A woman who used to live in hurricane territory, Shirley Raisor, told LEX 18 that prices are bound to go up as companies get scared, but she also said that customers need to be on the defense.

“Well the thing is, I know it’s hard to get supplies in, but sometimes there are price gougers, and you just have to be careful of that. And that’s not really fair,” said Raisor.

As hurricane season continues, drivers can expect these numbers to continue to climb.
