LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Thousands of country music fans saw a show last night, but headliner Brad Paisley gave one young Kentuckian a lot more.

LEX 18 viewer Rebecca Adkins attended the annual “Red, White & Boom” country music festival at Rupp Arena last night with her 9-year-old daughter, Brooklynn.

“Brooklynn is 9 years old & has DREAMED of seeing Brad Paisley in concert,” Adkins wrote to us. “She’s a HUGE fan and her first time seeing him tonight … he finished a song & gave her his autographed guitar! Saying she was shocked and the happiest she’s ever been would be an understatement. Brad made this little girl’s dream come true!”

Adkins, from Mount Victory, said Paisley just picked Brooklynn out of the crowd.

“He said she’s gonna be the next Tay [Taylor Swift] breaking boys’ hearts and told her to make sure she learns to play it,” Adkins said. “Brooklynn already had a smaller guitar she had gotten for Christmas this past year, but now she’s even more encouraged to learn to play! Brooklynn said, ‘It felt like I was in a dream when he handed me that guitar. I can’t wait to learn to play and make Brad Paisley proud.'”

To call Brooklynn a superfan would be an understatement.

“When I was five, I heard ‘Whiskey Lullaby’ come on and that’s when it all happened,” she told LEX 18.

Brooklyn said that after the concert, she was holding her new guitar and some other fans made offers for it.

“There was this girl, she asked me if I would take $500 for it, and I said no. Another person asked for a thousand, and then I said no,” she said.

Brooklyn has officially retired her small starter guitar and is now learning how to play the guitar Paisley gave her.
