BEREA, Ky. (LEX 18) — A man has died and another is injured after a crash in Berea early Thursday morning.
The Madison County Sheriff's Office says it happened on Mayde Road in Berea at around 1:00 a.m. Thursday. Through their initial investigation, authorities say the vehicle was traveling when it left the roadway and hit a tree.
The driver, 20-year-old Alex Clark, was pronounced dead at the scene, and the passenger, 19-year-old Ty Thompson, was taken to UK Medical Center with serious injuries.
Alcohol involvement and speed are suspected factors in the crash. It's being investigated by the Madison County Sheriff’s Office Collision Reconstruction Unit.
