MADISON COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — Madison County Schools announced a plan for reopening for their schools for the upcoming school year. A start date has not been decided but will be decided on Thursday. As of now, the set start date is August 12.
Madison County students will have three attendance options, which can be found below.
1. In-person attendance: Student(s) will attend school each day adhering to safety guidelines and measures.
2. Interactive distance learning: Student(s) will attend classes virtually, maintaining a regular daily class schedule, complete the same or similar work as their in-person peers and communicate regularly with classroom teachers.
3. Independent Distance Learning: Student(s) will attend school through a virtual platform or correspondence packet and/or workbooks provided by the district, will be self-paced and will have limited interaction with teachers and staff.
All students and faculty will be asked to wear masks while inside buildings. Masks will not be required for children under the age of six or those with medical exemptions. Other precautions include students eating lunch and breakfast in classrooms or at designated outdoors spaces and limited use of common areas such as cafeterias, auditoriums and gymnasiums.
