FRANKFORT, Ky. (LEX 18) — Gov. Andy Beshear announced that there's 8,286 COVID-19 cases and 386 coronavirus-related deaths in the state of Kentucky.

Thursday's results include 135 new cases and 10 new deaths.

Of the 8,286 cases, there have been 3,008 recoveries.

Gov. Beshear also said that June 29th is the target date for allowing groups of 50 people or fewer to gather, as well as the reopening of bars.

One of the more anticipated businesses to reopen has been childcare facilities.

Beginning June 8th, in-home childcare programs can open and beginning June 15th, center-based licensed childcare programs can reopen to all families.

These facilities can reopen based on the following guidelines:

-Stagger playground time among groups
-Eliminate centerwide family events
-Eliminate field trips
-Use centralized drop-off/pick-up locations to eliminate unnecessary traffic to classrooms and exposure of children

More details on these guidelines can be found here.
