GEORGETOWN, Ky. (LEX 18) — Want free COVID-19 testing? One-hundred spots are available for Saturday, but first, you must make an appointment online. WEDCO is the public health agency that serves people in Scott, Harrison and Nicholas Counties.

The free drive-thru testing will take place Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Georgetown College football stadium on Crawford Drive. You don't have to leave your car.

Dr. Crystal Miller, WEDCO's public health director, says the tests are open to anyone; you don't have to live in Scott, Harrison or Nicholas Counties.

"It's not an antibody test; it's a test for that moment in time," Miller stressed.

By that she means, the test will show whether you are positive or not for COVID-19 at the time of testing.

Miller says results will be given within 24 to 48 hours by a phone call from WEDCO staff.

"We want to identify those people so we can work directly with them and educate them on how they can protect themselves, their family and ultimately our communities," said Miller.

Starting May 18, curbside testing will take place at the Scott County Public Health Department from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. every Monday and Wednesday. Again, all testing will be by appointment only.
