FRANKFORT, Ky. (LEX 18) — During his Tuesday press conference, Gov. Andy Beshear announced 700 new cases of COVID-19. After the removal of duplicates, the 700 new cases brings Kentucky's COVID-19 case total to 32,197. The 700 new cases comes a day after 323 new cases were reported on Monday.
Of the 700 new Kentuckians to test positive, 18 were under the age of five. Tuesday's positivity rate was 5.24%, just slightly higher than Monday.
There are currently 638 Kentuckians with COVID-19 that are hospitalized, 135 of which are in the ICU.
Gov. Beshear also announced seven new coronavirus-related deaths bringing Kentucky's coronavirus-related death total to 751.
