LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — A Confederate Flag was spotted waving on a flag pole at Bryan Station Middle School Wednesday morning. Officials at the school removed the flag.
The incident has been reported to the police and school board by the neighbors around the school.
Bryan Station Middle School principal Robin Kirby released the following statement regarding the flag.
"The diversity of our school community is one of the things that makes Bryan Station Middle School such a special place to learn and work. In our current climate, we need to practice more love to overcome hate."
