WHITLEY COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — The recent floods in southern Kentucky have destroyed homes, barns, livelihoods and even took a life. The identity of the man who lost his life has been discovered.
Christina Bryant called police after her father, Ronnie, didn't show up to work on Thursday.
"They called his wife because his cell wasn't picking up, and it was very unusual for him not be reached," Christina noted.
It wasn't until Monday night when authorities discovered Ronnie Bryant. His SUV and his body were found on Highway 779, the road Bryant took for work, after the flooding finally receded enough.
"We were in shock, but relieved, you know it's just our father's not in the water anymore," Christina added.
As funeral arrangements are being arranged, Christina is remembering the father she knew, and also the man her kids and grand kids got to experience.
"My dad has become so different than he was when we were little," Christina noted. "You know, he is just so much more open, and love, and all this stuff he had in him. It was just great to hang out with him and laugh."
That is the Ronnie Bryant she will never forget.
