KNOX COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — A man wanted in Bell County for allegedly firing a shotgun at police over two years ago is now behind bars.
Deputies in nearby Knox County were investigating a report of a stolen car on Thursday. While knocking on doors in the area, 53-year-old Buford Ray Warren answered at one home and gave deputies a false name.
The deputies later learned that Warren was wanted for attempted murder of a police officer, wanton endangerment and other charges. Those charges stem from December 2017 when police attempted to serve a search warrant at Warren's home, only to be greeted by a shotgun blast though a window.
Warren also allegedly had drugs on him.
