(LEX 18) — Students in Scott County headed back to school on Wednesday and it was an extra special first day for the brand new high school Great Crossing.
Officials said that Great Crossing High School has been in the works for the past 20 years.
The new school features collaboration areas between classrooms and a section of the school just for students who want to enhance their technical skills.
The new Creekside Elementary School in Georgetown, Kentucky also opened on Wednesday. It is now the ninth elementary school for the district.
