LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — A woman was taken to the hospital Friday afternoon after being hit in the head by a man.
Around 2:29 p.m., officers responded to the 400 block of Elm Street for reports of shots fired.
Upon arrival, police found a woman suffering from a laceration to the head. A neighbor told LEX 18 that the woman said she was pistol-whipped.
According to LPD, she was struck by an unknown man, and the suspect discharged his weapon as he fled the area on foot, heading towards Michigan Street. No was was hit by gunfire.
The victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
This is an ongoing investigation. No word on suspect information at this time.
