Emergency Crews On Scene Of Large Sewer Leak In Scott County

SCOTT COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) – Emergency crews are responding to a large sewer leak in Scott County.

The Georgetown/Scott County Emergency Manager Director posted on Facebook that a sewer main break has released an estimated 100,000 gallons of sewage into Elkhorn Creek.

Reportedly water access will be closed at Oser Landing, Great Crossing, and Cardone until at least Sunday night.

Several viewers contacted LEX 18 says that people were quickly cleared from the area when the leak happened.

The water is reportedly being tested, and people will only be allowed back in once it is deemed safe.
