CLAY COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — A man pleaded guilty Tuesday to charges he was under the influence when he cause a 2015 crash in Clay County that killed five, including an unborn child.
Officials said Jason Gibson pleaded guilty to four counts of murder and one count of fetal homicide.
Kentucky State Police have said Gibson was under the influence of drugs in December 2015 when he crossed the center line on Hal Rogers Parkway and slammed into a vehicle with four people.
One of the victims was eight months pregnant — the fetus did not survive.
Gibson was being held in the Clay County Detention Center.
Sentencing is scheduled for early next month.
