FRANKFORT, Ky. (LEX 18) – Governor Matt Bevin offered condolences following a terror attack orchestrated against two mosques by an alleged white supremacist.

49 people were killed in the attacks. The governor offered his condolences via social media.

“As a husband, as a father, as a Christian, as a Governor, as a Kentuckian, as an American, as a single voice in the vast sea of humanity; I repudiate this reprehensible and evil act in the strongest possible terms! May God bring peace to NZ at this time,” wrote the Governor.

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said the events in Christchurch represented “an extraordinary and unprecedented act of violence” and acknowledged many of those affected may be migrants and refugees. In addition to the dead, she said more than 20 people were seriously wounded.
