DANVILLE, Ky. (LEX 18) — Three boys are facing charges after merchandise was damaged when deer urine spray was released inside a Boyle County Walmart.

The incident happened at the Walmart on Walton Avenue. Police believe that three juveniles wandered in and opened multiple bottles of deer urine spray and began spraying it everywhere.

The boys did $2,000 worth of damage, and the incident was caught on surveillance video.

Police said the boys seemed remorseful.

“Very remorseful, looked at it as a prank. I don’t think they had any idea what it could turn into and how it could damage that property, decrease its value and make it unusable,” Danville Assistant Police Chief Glenn Doan told LEX 18.

The boys also didn’t realize that the smell would linger around the Walmart aisles almost 72 hours later.

Like the smell, charges are now hanging over the heads of those three kids.

“Due to the amount of merchandise that was damaged, that couldn’t be cleaned, that couldn’t be re-sold or put back on the shelves, that’ll be a criminal mischief charge,” said Doan.
