LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– Two people are wanted in connection to a robbery at a Laurel County truck stop.

It happened around 6:25 a.m. Friday at Loves, approximately 10 miles South of London.

Officials say two people shoplifted electronic items and tools from the truck stop and carried them to their vehicle. When the manager confronted the pair outside, the male subject drove away, striking the manager in the leg with his vehicle and continued away from the scene headed westbound on KY 770.

Deputies located the vehicle on KY 312 at the intersection of KY 363, about five miles from the scene of the robbery. They attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but the suspect failed to stop and nearly struck several children awaiting their school bus.

The pursuit ended when they arrived at the end of Dewberry Lane and the couple fled on foot into the heavily wooded area nearby.

The van has been recovered, but deputies continue to search for the suspects who will face numerous charges, including robbery, assault, wanton endangerment, and fleeing or evading police- both with vehicle and on foot.

If anyone has any information on who the male or female suspects are, they are asked to contact the Laurel County Sheriff’s office at 606-864-6600.
