1 Dead In Tennessee Road Collapse

HAWKINS COUNTY, Tenn. (WBIR) – One person has died following a devastating mudslide and road collapse in Tennessee.

According to WBIR, a 62-year-old man died after a mudslide on Caves Springs Road in Hawkins County Thursday morning.

Police tell the Knoxville station that Steven Lawson was driving his 1997 Chevy pick-up truck around 1:55 a.m. when the mudslide occurred. His truck rolled 200 feet down an embankment.

The road has been closed since.
