POWELL COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) – After almost a year of searching, a new tip gives a family hope that they can finally bring a Powell County man home.
Roy Lane Jr. was last seen on March 16, 2018 leaving a gas station.
For the fifth time crews with the Powell County Search and Rescue squad strapped up to search for Lane.
“We don’t give up. There’s always hope,” said Lisa Johnson with the Powell County Search and Rescue team.
Two weeks ago, Lane’s sister, Amanda Mills received a tip to check an area outside of Clay City near the Mountain Parkway which brought them to Adams Ridge Road.
“We’re just really looking for answers…if anyone out there’s got a heart and wants to tell us what’s going on, we would greatly appreciate it,” said Mills.
The family acknowledges the harsh reality that Lane will most likely not be found alive. But they still want to know what happened to him in order to start the healing process.
“It’s been a really tough year. We’ve been through the holidays, the weddings, the birthdays, and he’s not been there” said John Mills, Roy’s brother-in-law.
Nothing turned up in Saturday’s search.
