FAIRFIELD, Oh. (WLWT) – Police are investigating after a SWAT situation ended with a suspect dead in Fairfield on Saturday.
The incident started around 8 p.m. when Fairfield police responded to Walter Avenue for a report of shots fired.
Police said when officers arrived on scene, they heard what appeared to be gun shots coming from the home.
The Hamilton-Fairfield SWAT team responded to the scene and was fired at by a suspect at the house. Officials said no one was struck and they did not return fire.
Officials the SWAT team entered the house around 4 a.m. and found the suspect dead from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The incident is still under investigation, officials said.
