LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) – Crews from Lexington’s Divisions of Streets & Roads and Water Quality continue to work on icy roads on Sunday night.

City officials say there are some slicks spots, especially on residential streets or roads with less traffic.

Although we aren’t expecting any more rain and snow, temperatures will remain well below freezing Sunday into Monday. That means there could be the potential for ice and slicks spots, and people are encouraged to be careful on roads and sidewalks.

Officials say rank 1 sidewalks are clear and they are working on rank 2 sidewalks as of late Sunday afternoon.

Lexington Police reportedly have responded to 1 injury crash and 23 non-injury collisions since 7:00a.m. Sunday.

The Office of Homelessness Prevention & Intervention Emergency Weather Plan remains in effect through Tuesday, January 22. LexTran is providing free rides to shelters. To report someone in need, call the HopeMobile at 859-252-7881 or the Compassionate Caravan at 859-255-0301.

KYTC reports that their road crews are out working to plow and treat roads on Sunday.

KYTC officials say drivers should be on the lookout for wet or partially covered roads.
