Prisoner Walks Away From EKCC In West Liberty

MORGAN COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) – An inmate has walked away from Eastern Kentucky Correctional Complex, state corrections officials confirm.

At 12:29 p.m. John Parrott, a minimum-security inmate at the Eastern Kentucky Correctional Complex, walked away from an outside work detail at a local tree farm.

Parrott was serving a 38-year sentence for convictions out of Nelson and Jefferson counties for second-degree burglary, theft by unlawful taking, first-degree burglary, receiving stolen property, second-degree robbery, possession of a handgun by convicted felon, first-degree wanton Endangerment and second-degree escape.

He is a 40-year-old white male, 6 foot, 210 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. He would have been eligible for parole March 2019.
