SHARPSBURG, Ky. (LEX 18) -A cow in Sharpsburg caused “udder” disruption on Christmas Day.
She escaped her home and ended up at a neighbor’s house for a little swim.
Butch Richardson got a knock on his door from a stranger late last night.
“I want to let you know there’s a cow in your pool. I don’t want you to get scared and come outside and start shooting,” Richardson recounted to LEX 18.
Sure enough, Butch went out back to find a large, 6-year-old Angus cow swimming around. The cow popped the pool cover and fell in. Butch called 911 and before long, a rescue was underway.
A tractor was called in to help the cow out of the pool. Butch told LEX 18’s Claire Kopsky that it was the second time that a cow has come by for a dip.
“About a week after I put that stretch cover on it. The cow came around and jumped on it and it sprung off like a trampoline,” he said.
Despite the hassle, Butch says he has no hard feelings toward his neighbor who owns the animals.
“Real nice fellow. But, bad fences,” Butch chuckled.
