Lexington Road Crews Work To Clear Up Slick Spots

Traffic was slow-going Tuesday morning along Interstate Highway 75 in Grant County.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Lexington officials said late Tuesday morning that crews were treating problem spots on freezing roadways while police responded to several collisions.

Lexington’s Streets and Roads division said conditions were good for using rock salt on roadways and that crews were monitoring conditions.

Lexington police, meanwhile, reported responding to 15 non-injury collisions, four motorist assists and six traffic hazards.

Todds Road was closed for about an hour this morning between Polo Club and Hays Boulevard, but was reopened by 9 a.m.

Residents can get information on accidents, lane blockages, snow-and-ice trouble spots and road closures through the city’s Twitter accounts (@lexwrecks and @lexkypolice). They can also view traffic at major intersection in real time through the city’s traffic cameras at lexingtonky.gov/traffic.
