RICHMOND, Ky. (LEX 18) — Kentucky State Police arrested and charged a man with murder after an altercation escalated into a fatal shooting Sunday night at a Madison County gas station.
Authorities say 22-year-old Brandon Carl Short admitted to shooting another man with a handgun during an altercation outside Cannon Corner, a Marathon station at 1640 Berea Road in Richmond.
The shooting happened around 10 p.m., and police said multiple witnesses reported seeing Short and the victim fighting.
According to his arrest citation, Short admitted to shooting the other man in the face and torso.
Short was charged with murder.
He was being held in the Madison County Detention Center.
