Bawdy, 1,300-Man ‘Bachelor Party’ Takes Over Cruise Ship

SYDNEY (WLWT/ SFGATE) – More than 1,000 men ran amok on a cruise ship last month after bringing burlesque dancers aboard for a series of parties on pool decks, Newsweekreported.

The cruise out of Sydney, Australia, was billed as a family-oriented adventure, but ended up more like bacchanalia on a boat — one enormous floating stag party.

The mostly Australian passengers on the Voyager of the Seas complained that the men — 1,300 workers from an Indian tobacco company who came aboard for a conference — blocked off pool decks, bars and the main buffet area.

Some of the scantily clad dancers reportedly wore Playboy Bunny suits as they gyrated to music. The raunchy displays caused families to go inside, but some passengers seemed more interested in the shows than in the cruise-sanctioned activities.

For example, bingo — which normally is a favorite on cruises — was canceled due to lack of interest.
