Woman Arrested For Alleged DUI With Toddler In Car

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) – Laurel County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a woman after she was allegedly driving under the influence of substances with marijuana, and a young child, in her car.

The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office reports that they received a call around 12:22p.m. on Saturday about a woman who was staggering in the parking lot of a yard sale and leaving her 19-month-old child in her car.

Reportedly deputies were able to locate Salley Johnson, 36, of London driving a gold Toyota Camry and they conducted a traffic stop.

Deputies determined Johnson was under the influence, and she reportedly admitted to them that she had taken Suboxone and Neurontin.

According to the sheriff’s office, Johnson was also in the possession of marijuana.

Johnson was arrested and taken to the Laurel County Detention Center.

She’s being charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence – second offense; endangering the welfare of a minor; and possession of marijuana.
