LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18)– A shots fired call led to a standoff with police in Lexington.

It happened around 9:30 p.m. Monday in the 1500 block of Thames Drive.

Neighbors called 911 and reported shots fired, along with a man trying to force his way into a home.

When police got there, neighbors told them the man had gotten inside.

Police found a shell casing at the back of the house.

After setting up a perimeter, police called their emergency response unit and Donald Shane Gooch eventually came out peacefully.

Two women were also in the house. Officials say they’re related to Gooch.

He was arrested and charged with criminal trespassing.

Police say this was a mother-son domestic issue and he was not welcome at the home.
