PIKEVILLE, Ky. (EKB News)- A high-speed chase that involved a 17-year-old and a several police ended in Pike County when he ran out of gas.
The pursuit started in Boyd County. The juvenile is a suspect in an attempted murder. He fled as officers in Ashland attempted to perform a traffic stop. The chase continued onto US-23 through several counties and several agencies stepped in to help.
Speeds reached upward of 130 MPH, police tell EKB News. At the Pike/Floyd County line, the suspect ran out of gas and was taken into custody. Police say it’s fortunate that no one was injured and the chase ended before it came to the heavily congested Coal Run area of Pike County.
