LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) – The 34th Annual Midsummer Night’s Run will take off in downtown Lexington on Saturday night.

The event hosted by the Bluegrass Sports Commission and Lexington Athletic Club features a 5K that starts at 8:00p.m, a 1 mile run/walk at 7:00p.m. and a kids run at 6:00p.m.

Other festivities include live music, food trucks and craft beer.

Former University of Kentucky Quarterback Jared Lorenzen will serve as the grand marshal for the 2018 races.

More than 3,000 people from 19 states are registered to take part in the event.

Donations from this year are going to support "Yes Mamm!", a program that provides free mammography screenings and diagnostic testing for women and men in central and eastern Kentucky who are uninsured. These tests can help detect breast cancer before it spreads and while it is more treatable.

People can still register on Saturday at the race site from 4:30p.m. to 8:00p.m.
