LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18)– A man was arrested Saturday after being accused of attempted rape.
The incident happened July 27 on South Limestone.
Police say 26-year-old Gary Barker allegedly pursued a woman on her way home from work. He followed the victim up a flight of stairs to her apartment, and began taking off his pants.
According to an arrest citation, when she tried to run into her apartment and lock him out, he allegedly shoved his way through.
He then began to force his way onto the woman, who used a bottle of Mace to spray him, causing him to run away.
Barker faces several charges including attempted rape and burglary.
